Students of final year Electronics and Communication engineering at JIET Group of Institutions fabricated their final year project title "Prudent Dross Management" The project was guided by Prof. Ranjana Trivedi (Professor ECE). The project is executed by a team of three students namely Suman Rishabh Verma and Pragya Singh. This project is about creating a prudent dross-bin that alerts the authorities to gather the waste which has been piling up in the bins. It guides the garbage-trucks to collect the garbage only from those areas where the bin is critically filled. The 'machine- learning and IoT concept has been used to gather information about the waste generation habits in that region and hence predict the amount of waste that will be generated in the near future. Apart from that, the information of the bin with the optimum path for traveling and collecting trash is updated automatically in the app designed. The information is delivered to the concerned authorities once the level of waste in the dustbin crosses the threshold as set by the authorities. This would save time and money from the authorities considerably. This would also reduce air pollution in the area and prevent the spreading of diseases caused by unpicked waste.
