Best Practices

1. Abodh Aangan

JIET adopted the nearby village, where round the year students of constituent colleges of JIET Group of Institutions educate the children of nearby Mogra and Kankani villages, mostly the labour class wards.

Every year a camp is being held to educate villagers about healthy living, saving the girl child, education for all and thus contributing in the holistic development of the school-going children and their parents. Ms Shweta Agarwal coordinates it with the coordination of the Chief Mentor.

2. Mentorship of students in hostels

The JIET Hostel Administration is comprised of academics, non-academics and core department. This program is coordinated by Chief Mentor’s Prof. Ashish Mathur with the coordination of both Chief Wardens of hostels.

The selection criteria of mentors are based on the overall performance of the student, and the selection process goes through many stages like Common Entrance Test, written test, demo session and Personal Interview. After completing all stages of the selection process, mentors are appointed for the smooth working of this system.

3. Use of renewable resources in order to sensitize the students about the benefits

The Institute put a lot of emphasis on using renewable and spreading education in the area of renewable technologies. The Electrical Engineering Department of JIET is putting many efforts into spreading information about renewable energy technologies. JIET has a Solar photovoltaic plant of 100KW (Operating Condition) and a Solar photovoltaic plant of 300KW (Under Construction).

4. Inclusion of Human values and Ethics amongst students through compulsory courses and activities.

The knowledge and practice of human values and ethics are imparted through the university's regular theory and practical courses.
Along with these courses, regular activities are conducted by the National Service Scheme -JIET chapter under the guidance of Dr Punita Soni (Head-Mentor, Department of Management Studies, JIET) to foster a strong sense of ethical judgment among the students.
