The Department of ME organized a 2 Day International Seminar on “Application of the Internet of Things (IoT)”

The Department of Mechanical Engineering-JIET organized a Two-Day International Seminar on the Application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Industry 4.0 from April 26-27, 2021. The goal/vision of this seminar is to learn about autonomous decision-making processes, monitor assets and operations in real-time, and enable equally real-time connected value creation networks through the early involvement of stakeholders and vertical and horizontal integration. On the first day, five technical sessions were conducted. The first technical session was taken by Prof. (Dr.) S.P Harsha on the topic "IoT based predictive maintenance 4.0 using machine learning techniques" and gave insights of Industry 4.0 and its utilization in predictive maintenance; the second session was taken by Prof. (Dr.) Guruprasad Kuppu Rao on the topic "Digitization of manufacturing", Dr. Sachin Kumar Mangla took the third technical session on topic "Industry 4.0, Supply Chain and Sustainability", the fourth technical session was taken by Dr. Praveen Bidare on the topic "Process Dynamics in Laser-Powder Bed Fusion Metal 3D Printing Process", and Mr. Utkarsh Ankalkhope took the final session of day-1 on topic "Additive Manufacturing – The Smart, Sustainable, Rapid Engineering solution empowered by IoT platforms to deliver intelligent products.
