Why to choose mechanical engineering?
The first question that comes to our mind is “why engineering or mechanical engineering,” All science students involve basically in three subjects, physics, chemistry, and mathematics, after the secondary examination. They learn a lot from these subjects at the higher secondary level; however, application parts were missing in the higher secondary level. Therefore, all the application concepts of these subjects are applied in the mechanical engineering branch, where students can perfectly utilize their previous knowledge in a broader application-oriented way. That’s why Mechanical engineering is the leading branch or evergreen branch of all engineering trades.
It deals with the machines, their design, manufacturing, and maintenance of industrial components. The mechanical engineer has applied all related laws to build and create an engineered industrial part. Mechanical engineering is the first or second choice among engineers for more than the last 100 years because of its continuous demand and diversified nature. Mechanical engineers can quickly adapt to the various engineering applications and newly developed engineering knowledge. Recently, the industrial internet of things has been adopted and promoted by the manufacturing units of the world.
The next question that comes into mind that “What should be the scenario or trends after 4 years devoted to mechanical engineering branch?” In the COVID-19 pandemic, the manufacturing and mechanical engineer opportunity arise because more than 1000 manufacturing units have shown their willingness to shift from China to the rest of the world (India). This scenario shows India would be the manufacturing hub from 2021.
Now next question comes to our mind is, why select the mechanical engineering branch? So, first of all, choose a core engineering branch. Then, you will understand and get mature enough to select several mechanical engineering areas like Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Marine, Aeronautical, Manufacturing, etc. You can choose one of these areas after completion of B.Tech later on.
The Last question is about further studies abroad or global opportunities; you can study abroad after B.Tech. Mechanical Engineers are at the forefront of future technologies of developing new technologies for many industries, including healthcare, transport, robotics, and construction. You can also set your business, or you can be an entrepreneur. The mechanical engineer is a multi-skilled engineer who is highly appreciated in society. The qualified mechanical engineer act as a master of all engineering trades, and those in the engineering sector often do. The Mechanical Engineer has a working knowledge of mathematics, computer application, structures, physics, and electrical and some understanding of social, environmental factors.
