Q. What is the vision about institute for future?

Q. There are number of Hotel Management colleges mushrooming everywhere, how is your college different from others?

Ans.JIET is best known for providing quality education in the field of Engineering, management at Nursing from UG to Research level since 2003. Our flagship college “Jodhpur Institute of Engineering & Technology” is only NBA Accredited College (in four UG branches) in the state of Rajasthan. Apart from this it has been Ranked I in Western Rajasthan and III in the state by Rajasthan Technical University through a robust process of QIV (Quality Index Value) Ranking. The infrastructure, experienced faculty members and the most advanced kitchens and other labs make it a world class institution.

Q. What are the Merits & demerits of hospitality as a career for a youngster?

Ans.Not everybody enjoys working in hospitality industry. A students should take proper counseling before choosing it as a career. First merits of this field is that it requires varied kind of talents for different departments of hotel. Contrary to the belief that Hotel Management is only cooking and serving, it has enormous potential in facilities management, front office, marketing, human resource management and other fields. So, jobs are plentiful for a hotel management graduate. Apart from it, our professional are in huge demand abroad also, first Indian cuisine is gaining popularity day by day, second the attitude of our personnel is fit for this industry. Talking about demerits, its initial perks a fresher gets is not very smart, salaries gradually increase to a satisfactory level after 4-5 years of experience and goes for duty hours…initially youngsters have to through long duty hours, after all, practice makes a man perfect…

Q. Will there be any facility for Educational loans from banks for aspiring students?

Ans.Government policies are all for students to help in higher and technical education, we do guide our students as how to apply online to educational loans and whatever courses we are running so far, our students are availing loans for them.

Q. What about placements of this course?

Ans.This is one of the major concern for parents and students. Before commencing the project, we had interaction with almost all the major hotel chains operating locally and everywhere we got a warm response towards absorbing our students. It was a study conducted by a leading hospitality publication few years ago, of almost all the students who passed out from a national council college and opted for food production, less the 5% remain in India after 3 years of experience, and either they go abroad and in cruise liners. This is potential of jobs in Hospitality sector. Apart from it we have a dedicated placement cell and I don’t think placing our students in prestigious properties shall be a big challenge.

Q. Are lodging and boarding facilities available in campus?

Ans.We have separate hostels for boys and girls with capacity of 450+ students. Accommodation ranges from normal to air cooled and air conditioned, as per the need of student. We also have dedicated team of mess and housekeeping staff. The campus is manned by trained security staff 24 × 7.In case of any medical emergency; we have a tie up with prestigious multi-specialty MediPulse Hospital in Jodhpur.

Q. Do college provide transport to and from the city?

Ans.Our institution owns a fleet of buses with provide pick up and drop facilities to students and staff from all over the city of Jodhpur.

Q. Are there any chances that a youngster can make his/her career abroad?

Ans.The hotel management graduates are amongst the highest professionals getting placement abroad be it gulf, Europe, America, Africa, Australia or even cruise liners gives you NRI status and salaries in Euros or Dollars…

Q. Any other career avenues for students after Hotel Management?

Ans.These students can always diversify for careers in Human Resources, Training and Development, Marketing and Sales, Event Management, Airlines Catering, Merchant Navy and Cruises, Armed forces and any other Government sector jods where graduation is required as educational qualification. Many students opt for higher education like MBA in India or abroad to aim for senior positions in the above departments/ sectors. Apart from it students; after few years of experience, can always think of becoming an entrepreneur. Potential of tourism is huge, it’s ever increasing and these is a place for everyone in this market.

Q. Do you provide any special tutorials/ guidance to students, especially week in communication and soft skills- which is integral part of Hospitality Industry?

Ans.It’s a well-known fact that English is the most popular medium of communication without it, it’s difficult to survive. Computer knowledge is another basic skill require in hospitality. Attitude and interpersonal skills is require for survival and growth in any organization. Being in Education field for last two decades we understand the importance of all the skills and help students to acquire them during their stay with us.

Q. How much emphasis you all give to extracurricular activities in campus?

Ans.Different sports activities like cricket, volleyball, basketball, , table tennis, badminton, athlete, carom are available in campus, also activates like quizzes, hostel DJ nights, annual days and different festivals are celebrated. Hotel Management College will soon witness its own food festival, which will be a yearly activity.

Q. What queries a student should address before taking admission in a professional college?

Ans.Before taking decision as to which college/course shall I join; student must get to know these fundamental facts

a) Credentials of the Institution: Whether the institution is approved by all Government bodies?

b) Affiliation: The body providing degree. Whether ii is valid in India?

c) Infrastructure: Student should himself/herself visit the college and see the infrastructure, after all it is once in a lifetime decision one has to take.

d) Placements: Whether the course I am enrolling in, is capable for providing jobs?

e) Faculty: The pool of faculty members an institution has and the experience and exposure of faculty members.
