B. Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration is one of India's most famous hotel management courses at the undergraduate level. IHMs and many other colleges affiliated with the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) offer B. Sc. (HHA) courses. It involves studying the operational and management techniques utilized by the hospitality & tourism industry. The course duration is three years during which a candidate is prepared in theoretical studies, hands-on training, and industry exposure for a promising career in the hotel management industry. B. Sc. (HHA) course is offered at all the IHMs, jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management (NCHMCT) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including food preparation, marketing, accounting, planning, nutrition, customer service, etc. The Six Semester full-time regular course equips students with all the required skill sets, knowledge, and attitude to discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector efficiently. The program also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire the required knowledge and skill standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Front Office Operation, Food & Beverage Service, and House Keeping. It also provides managerial inputs in Human Resource Management, Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety & Quality, Facility Planning, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Tourism Marketing, and Tourism Management.

B. Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration is available as a generic course. In addition, students can take up specializations in their field of interest, such as Food & Beverage Management, Accommodation Management, Food Production Management, Front Office Operations, bakery and & Confectionery, etc.

The salary package for hotel management professionals varies from sector to sector. Generally, jobs in the aviation and shipping sector offer the best salary packages as both profiles require hectic traveling. Five-star hotels also provide a good salary, starting salaries offered by five-star hotels for fresher will vary from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000. After gaining experience, one can get a salary of up to Rs. 50,000. With quality education and experience, one can make a promising career in the hospitality industry.
