Electrical Engineering is one of the vital branches of Engineering & can be considered as the mother branch. Most of the engineering branches have emerged as specialization from Electrical Engineering.
This engineering branch's central part is related to the basic principles and detailed analysis of various apparatuses and systems for electricity generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization. The stream also covers the study of many electronic devices and circuits involved in measuring, instrumentation, protection, and control of electrical equipment and their conversion systems. Concept of computer and recent applications of computer-based systems in design, maintaining quality and security, analysis and efficient operation of power system, also included in this course. During the B.Tech, electrical engineers develop analytical skills and reasoning power, computer knowledge, and programming skills. This assists them in acquiring employment also as software professionals. With little extra input, an electrical graduate can easily find a place in any area of Information & futuristic Technology. The Electrical Engineering stream graduates are mainly employed in various Electricity Boards or Utility companies and large and small scale production industries as engineers and technical managers. They are responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of power handling apparatus and systems. Sectors manufacturing large electrical machines and equipment employ electrical engineers for design, production, quality assurance, and testing.
