Inorganic semiconductor materials are used as a substrate for IC(Integrated Circuit) manufacturing but these materials have some challenges like Hot Carrier Effect, Boltzmann Tyranny and Quantum Tunneling effect so researchers are trying to find alternatives of these materials, a suitable substitute is organic semiconductor materials. Research in the field of organic molecular electronics is currently going on in IIT Jodhpur, IISER Mohali and IISER Pune using Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) the aim of the research is to study the characteristics of different materials which can further be used as alternatives for silicon-based electronics.

At such a stage India is in need of good electronics engineer to support the country’s economy and be a contributing force in the development of new devices in this domain.
