  • In order to promote and encourage young entrepreneurs, JIET Group of Institutions has set up an Innovative Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC). The objective of establishing an EDC in JIET campus is to set up an institutional mechanism to create self-employment opportunities and to convert "job-seekers" into "job-generators".

To foster entrepreneurial culture among students, EDC will conduct various training programmes like Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EACs), Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) and Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) etc. In addition to this, it would initiate student-projects for innovative ideas each year. The outcome of these projects is aimed to bring new products to the market or to develop new methodologies so as to generate/ manufacture existing products in a more cost effective and environment friendly way. By doing so, EDC will take the first baby step to bridge the gap between education and industry. EDC would establish better linkages with industries, R&D institutions, financial institutions and other related organizations engaged in promoting small & medium enterprises (SMEs).

The EDC of the college has organized a Industry-Institute Interaction Meet last academic session in collaboration with Big Giant of Jodhpur Industrial Area. The main aim of this meet was to create awareness among faculty and students about various facets of entrepreneurship as an alternative career option.During this meet, interaction with successful entrepreneurs proved to be very stimulating to the participants. They shared their stories of success and failure with students. Students also learnt about the various qualities good entrepreneurs exhibit, while realizing that there is a fair amount of chance involved in becoming successful as an entrepreneur.

EDC arranges industrial visits to allow students to see for themselves how an entrepreneur runs his enterprise.
